Tecsun H-501x radio
Tecsun H-501x can receive FM, Longwave (LW), Medium Wave (MW) and Shortwave (SW) frequency bands and is Single Sideband (SSB) capable.
This radio receiver is equipped with an analog High-IF circuit and DSP triple conversion decoding technology. It has great performance in sensitivity, selectivity and combating interference of mirror stations (image rejection). Like other Tecsun models, it comes with a variety of "hidden features".

I have owned the Tecsun H501x for approximately 3 years. I purchased the radio from this website.I have owned many radios over the years.The H501x is simply the best sounding radio in its class. FM stereo, Bluetooth and SD card functions are fantastic and AM ranges also sound excellent with very low distortion, wide band recovery of audio. You can get the most out of this radio by using the external antenna facilities.For example it works really well with simple tecsun passive tuned loops for mw(also available on this site) or the C Crane active amplified tuned loopstick. In low noise areas you can also use the telescopic antenna for AM ranges including MW and LW and in this mode the radio is very sensitive. SW is also generally excellent -high sensitivity, well choosen bandwidth settings and excellent ssb recovery. The cabinet style, twin audio amps, speakers are very well designed and treble and bass lift is an excellent feature giving the user control over his/her desired sound. The radio is well laid out and easy to use and in my view a design classic. No radio is perfect so I would prefer better power arrangements to increase battery time(there are simple work arounds for this issue), RDS for FM and a better quality sync circuit for AM ranges and higher sensitivity from the internal ferrite bar used for MW/LW ranges. These limitations aside, I recommend highly this radio for anyone looking for a versatile SW/MW/LW/FM/BT/SD Card radio in hardback book size format.
